Zal is born with a face like heaven, but his hair was an old man's. Born an albino, his snow-white hair is considered a bad omen. Her father Sam, embarrassed by the strange appearance of the baby, orders Zal to be released in the mountains where the mythical Simurgh(Phoenix) will take her home. The Simurgh raises him like his own child until he is young. This story is one of the stories of Ferdowsi's Shahnameh book.
