Description
Having a history of over 1,000 years, Kambala is an annual event that starts in November and lasts until March every year in the state of Karnataka in Southern India. Purely dedicated to Lord Shiva, through Lord Manjunatha, an incarnation of Lord Shiva. It is believed that the celebrations happen to please the Gods for a great harvest and is a form of sports and joy for the community of farmers. The farmers who participate in the sports show the world their chiseled body built only by the strength of their backs and the sweat of their brows.
