This digitally hand painted 1/1 work depicts a sunset over Kerch, Ukraine. Founded 2,600 years ago as an ancient Greek colony, Kerch is considered to be one of the most ancient cities in Crimea. After Russia invaded Ukraine, I felt horrible watching the footage on television. I have two elderly neighbors, a man who is from Ukraine and his wife who is Russian. They told me stories about Kerch and the old man cried telling me how he taught his son to fish there. He kept saying how much he regretted never going back. I was instantly inspired! I wanted to figure out a way to show my support. I wanted to find a way to show people the true beauty of the country that is being attacked. When I showed my neighbors this picture they both hugged me. I went on to paint 2 more Ukraine landscapes soon after. Proceeds from this auction will be donated to help the humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.
