She's always been one of the strongest people in my life; both physically and mentally. I've watched her excel in martial arts, painting, surfing, and ballet so having her trust me enough to restrict her full range of motion meant more than many may understand. The person allowing the knots to be tied is, in fact, more in control than the person with the rope. That level of trust must be honored and her strength, as she maintains her balance without the use of her arms, must be respected. I don't know that I'd experienced trust on this level until this day but moments like these have taught me that receiving trust is just as important as giving it.
