Artist: Jonas Hornehoj 7633 x 9541 Padar Island is the third largest of the Komodo National Park, and I’m convinced it was forged by magic fairy dust. I have felt an immutable need to return to Padar Island, so I did just that for 4 consecutive years, 2018 through 2021. I captured this particular image on my most recent trip out there. To me, this island is magnetic, in a different way than any other place I have ever been. As cliche as it may sound, it is worth the several days of travel each time just to return here. Reaching the top of the island by foot, and being blessed by panoramic views of unparalleled beauty has led me to referring to this as my favorite place on the planet on several occasions. Hours of shooting fly by as if it were minutes, and I always leave wanting more. This island is as close to visual perfect as I have probably ever seen, and always makes me feel as if I am on a real life set of ‘The Land Before Time’.
