Description

One of the most recognizable spots along the Big Sur Coast is the iconic Bixby Bridge built in 1932. I stopped here at sunset a couple of evenings on my most recent trip but wasn't happy with the shots. It wasn't until I was heading back down the coast on my last day that I saw the exact view I wanted. The morning light from the east covering the hillsides, turquoise water, puffy clouds, and crashing waves made this such a perfect scene for me. I love the viewpoint from this dirt road that winds down a valley behind the bridge and had already climbed down a hill the night before for the composition I wanted, so I knew the exact spot I wanted. I love this angle looking outward over the Pacific Ocean and came away with exactly what I wanted that morning. Photographed in March 2022
