Description

Thunderous surf smashed against the cliffs below my tripod as a storm surge meets the steep rocky edge of the Oregon coastline. Watching the spray off the crash slowly work its way up the side of the cliff turned into a visual display of golden mist as the sun set on the horizon. Right as the light hit a lonely hiker emerged from the forested brush across from me. I yelled and waved as the person came to the edge to buy some time to load my medium format film camera. The sounds fell to deaf ears as the roar of the ocean swallowed any yells I made. Right as they went to leave I locked my film back and shot until they left my sight. I didn’t see those images for months as I filled a freezer bag full of film hoping for the best when I would make it to San Francisco.
