'Afraid' is an unique artwork based on an oil painting created in 2020, inspired by the photo portrait of the Afghan Girl taken by photographer Steve McCurry in 1984. It depicts the desperation and fear in the eyes of a refugee girl, and the hope for tomorrow. Almost four decades later, the fear is still present in that part of the world.
