The only one standing on this clay, dry Tuscan hill, this tree symbolises for me resilience and the strength needed to hold one’s ground like no other. I have been photographing this tree since 2017, finding it always there, standing fast on the top of the hill. When I approach this tree on a dirt road, before the last turn hiding it from my sight, I am always worried that this time I won’t find it anymore. But, every time I see it again, standing fast, and I feel safe again and inspired to always stand my ground, no matter what.
