Description

A woman makes eye contact while I took her portrait in the great hall at Grand central Station. As an artist, I felt uncomfortable because she is obviously not happy I am taking her portrait. The male gaze is exemplified here, and so is a woman's self-possession in our age. I feel committed to the act of documentation. This is a woman in New York from the early 21st Century. 20 centuries from now, the owner of this NFT will know what a woman looked like and acted like in our time. The photograph has been aleatorily disassembled, relayered with selections from the same photograph, then recolored in post production. This series are about the journey inward towards seeing oneself and understanding one's self, at times a difficult process but one is that always luminous in the end.
