A former whaling ship beached on the shore, near Patreksfjörður, Westfjords, Iceland. Repurposed from whaling to fishing, this Titanic-era ship supplied fisheries for over half a century. Only a fragment of glass remains in what once were the windows of the bridge. Places and things abandoned are a statement of society’s tendency to move forward, to gravitate towards the new and shiny while leaving much of the old behind. They exhibit an inherent beauty that is mostly overlooked, relics of the past that are left to the elements and time to be reclaimed by nature.
