I made this image in Goblin Valley State Park, Utah, in 2018. These unique, mushroomesque rocks are called hoodoos. This place is truly alien. It doesn’t look like any other place that I’ve ever seen. I visited Goblin Valley in the winter, so I literally had the place to myself, which really made it a special experience. I felt a comforting solitude while there, and I think that feeling comes across in this image. As with all of the other images in this collection, the effect is created in camera. This is a single image, and it is not composited, or manipulated in photoshop.
