It's the dance of the cig butts that rise from the ashtrays and are whirled by the wind in a way that recalls the swirls and rings of smoke. There is no violence, everything is gentle. The ashtrays are superimposed one upon another to signify that time is passing (as used in physics for the time coordinate), which is shown by the progressively greater number of cigs but also by the expansion of the universe of butts.
