Description

Halcyon is an Earth-like desert planet in a densely populated solar system with twenty-six other planets orbiting Barnard's Star, a red dwarf about six light-years from Earth in the constellation of Ophiuchus. Located closely to Endor, it is about 4 times bigger than Earth and is mainly a desert rocky planet. When liquid and nutrients are scarce, the alien organisms on the planet have developed methods of storing those nutrients for times of need. Some have become so specialized that they can go for very long times without the need for additional water for months. Halcyon Fire Ant is one of those extreme examples of such a resilient lifeform. The ant body is divided into three sections: the head, the thorax, and the massive abdomen - protected by silica-based crust, it can carry enough nutrients to support the ant for months and sometimes years when full.
