Colin Goldberg Cyan & Gold Composition (NFT), 2022 1/1 NFT. Digital still image. This NFT is the 1/1 blockchain counterpart to a singular 19 x 13 inch hand-painted work on paper completed in January 2022. This work combines a hand-painted India ink wash ground with computer-robotic assisted overdrawing. The concentric circular forms and line work were drawn directly onto the painted surface in gold and white ink using an Axidraw SE pen plotter. This work is an example of Techspressionism, a term Goldberg invented in 2011 to describe his working methodology and artistic philosophy. Techspressionism was first described as a movement in the 2014 WIRED article “If Picasso had a Macbook Pro”. The artist is a recipient of grants from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation and the New York State Council on the Arts.
