Sometimes it takes a couple of test runs to get the best result. On the plane from Cancun back to Vienna, at sunrise in the early morning hours, there was this moon right outside and over the plane’s engine. What a grand setting this was. But how to capture it while moving at 800 mph and nothing to stabilize my camera? I took a pillow, stuffed it into the window of the plane’s door to work as my now-to-be tripod, covered myself with a blanket to shut out all distracting light reflections, and adjusted the focus manually to have everything outside of the window in focus. It took about 100 takes to finally get it right. Only with loads of editing the image would resemble the actual look on the plane. Content with the result and the process of creation, this piece is a fitting addition to the “Create” collection.
