When you think of Canary Islands, I guess one of the last things coming to mind is snow. Snow is rare at this latitude, but due to its altitude Teide National Park may get some snowfall during winter. Back in February 2016, everything above 1.500 m.a.s.l. was covered in white. It was an intense snowfall that caused the roads to be closed, so I had to walk for some kilometers to reach this spot with a beautiful view of Teide volcano (3.715m highest peak in Spain) and Orotava valley, partly covered with clouds that take on this orangish hue from the city lights below. I took this photo during the astronomical twilight, with the full moon rising behind me and starting to bathe the scene with its light.
