Description
Sirens were creatures originating from ancient Greek mythology. They were originally depicted as being half human half bird, however the half human half fish, or "mermaid", portrayal was popularized sometime between the classical and medieval period. Today the mermaid is often described as a loving and kind creature, however sirens only seemed as such. They were said to be beautiful beings with the voices of angels. With these attributes they would hypnotize sailors, and lure them into shallow waters. The ships would then smash into the rocky shore, and instead of bliss, the sailors found the creatures to deliver only death.
