Description
Street Photography, 2022 - Ebisu, Tokyo Photographed by Goro - *one loud image* This is the fourteenth selected image of the DEFAULT TOKYO series that features in the NFT project. If you enjoy S-curves, this capture has two! 1. Known in painting as the "line of beauty", the S-curve is a line that travels back and forth horizontally through the image as the eye proceeds vertically through the scene. 2. For contrast and punch in a photo, the S-curve is a classic tonal tweak for boosting contrast and saturation. Moving upwards in the highlights and down in the shadows (and sometimes the mid-tones) Ebisu Station, in the Ebisu neighborhood of Tokyo's Shibuya ward, was opened in 1901 as a freight terminal for the neighboring Yebisu Beer factory. Passenger trains began to stop at the station five years later. The station is named after Yebisu Beer, which is for the Japanese deity Ebisu.
