Animals in Distress - Animals of Mariupol #4 Animals of Mariupol is a series of several artworks that invite people to witness suffering that animals experience during times of war. City of Mariupol is chosen as a symbol of war because this is a city that was ravaged by Russian troops the most during the terrorist invasion. War in Ukraine is the closest and most important war happening to my hometown of Vilnius, it is a war that everyone can relate to within the eastern part of Europe. Humans are animals too and they are the ones who suffer the most during the evil acts people unleash upon each other. Cities are destroyed, whole populations are wiped from the face of earth. In this illustration one can see a person killed by the invasive troops. People in Ukraine are often found laying in the middle of the streets - shot down and covered with rugs.
