Scotland is a mecca for any erratic boulder lovers out there and one of the most wonderful locations for this is the Aird of Coigach. In the Summer of 2019 I suffered a serious injury whilst out alone in the hills of Wales which required an emergency operation and from which I am still, even now, physically and mentally recovering. This image was taken about 6 months after that incident, whilst I was still using a crutch to be mobile. It's proximity to the road is an easy hop, skip and jump for anyone able bodied, but for me, at the time, this was a major victory, to be able to cross this boggy ground and feel free again with my photography. As such, this evocative image of the the diminutive Stac Pollaidh, seeming to rise far above its much grander neighbour, Cul Mor is a metaphor for how this images makes me feel about that moment.
