For every 'perfect' droplet collision, there is a subsequent void created microseconds afterwards - both states completely necessary in order for the other to exist. Typically splash photography values only the 'umbrella' splashes - I value the variety of outcomes that make the 'umbrella' splashes possible. This void shot is made up of gelatin-infused water and cornstarch, frozen at 1/20,000th of a second.
