The Milky Wave The time in between of surfing can feel erry from above - so much stillness. Do you talk to the person beside you and potentially form a connection with them? Or do you sit in the present moment by yourself, but also not alone? I always wonder this when I’m shooting surfing. Maybe the aim is to have a perfect mixture of both. To me, the sea and space feel alike. All of this endless quiet wonder, the completely insane unknown and the most peaceful atmosphere one could experience. I decided to combine the two in this composite edit - the Milky Way and a top down shot of “the in between” here in Waikiki. I hope we all get to form those bonds of wonder, with ourselves, and with one another. The combination of both is why we are here. Waikiki Beach, O’ahu.
