Kalalau Kingdom June 2020 - mid Covid and Hawaii is feeling smaller and smaller. Just before they shut off inter-island travel, I made a trip to Kauai. "The Garden Isle" - One of the most magical islands out of the lot, even more so now that thousands of people weren't around. It was the most incredible sight i'll never forget or experience again. I hiked down to one of the most popular lookouts on the island. Not only was it pouring rain, but fog and mist covered the mountain ridges like a blanket - But I knew what was behind them. I knew it would clear in time. I was standing on the edge near that stump and I said a little prayer - I asked to see the glory. Within a few minutes it opened up, perfectly framed, just for me. A waterfall and rainbow in the distance, the ocean and the lush greenery - it was heaven. It closed up in minutes. I felt like the luckiest girl. The rain returned, and i hiked back up in the mud, with this image of paradise etched into my heart forever.
